ATMs & Eftpos

This year all bars and food vendors will be cashless. This means that you will only be able to use your credit/debit card to make a purchase. Some market stalls will accept cash so we still recommend bringing some cash along with you.

On sale at the General Stores will be a selection of toiletries, snacks, camping supplies, bags of ice and more. A full list of items will be released closer to the event.

We would like to dance for many more years on our beautiful site. With climate change imminent, we are acutely aware of our environmental responsibility and are drastically improving our sustainability program. 2019/20 Beyond the Valley will see the beginning of our phase-out of single use plastics and will see a site-wide ban on the sale of bottled water. Please read further for more detail on our sustainability initiatives. Our hope is for all our attendees of Beyond the Valley to join us in these initiatives and carry over this environmental awareness into their daily lives.
Did you know…
- 90% of plastic bottles do not get recycled
- It is predicted that by 2050 the oceans will contain more plastic (by weight) than fish
- Every bit of plastic that’s ever been created still exists somewhere on the planet
- 1 tent = tossing out 8,750 straws
Phase out of single use plastic
This year, Beyond the Valley is implementing a site-wide ban on the sale of plastic water bottles. We will be increasing water taps across site, as well as selling our new BTV branded bottles across the bar. Selling at all bars, general stores and merchandise store, our BTV bottles are the ultimate solution for your daily festival hydration. The double-walled vacuum insulated bottles keep your drinks cold for up to 24 hours, each bottle is made from high-quality stainless steel and all bottles are 100% BPA and toxin free, with in-built handles so you can’t lose it! We will also be selling aluminium cans of water, we’ve chosen to sell this option due to aluminium's ability to be recycled over and over.
Please do not bring single use plastic water bottles with you to Beyond the Valley. We encourage you to bring larger containers of water which you can fill up your water bottle with. Cardboard water cartons & canned water are also better alternatives.
Our bars will serve alcoholic beverages in compostable cardboard cups. Disposing these cups in the organic waste will greatly help reduce our impact on the environment.
Take it home
We know you are exhausted after the festival and all you want to do is get home to your own bed - but please consider this…. 1 tent in landfill is the equivalent of tossing out 8750 straws! Pretty confronting hey! Please bring camping equipment that is built to last! Every tent brought to the festival must return home with you. Please leave your campsite the way you found it.
The cleanest campsites will be rewarded with Beyond the Valley tickets for next year!
Don’t waste the valley... use the bins provided to compost and recycle as much as possible. Throughout the catering areas you will see organics bins. All food-ware will be compostable so you can put this along with your food scraps in there so they can be taken away and turned into compost! When entering the festival, you will meet our friendly green team! They will be handing out garbage bags on arrival, clear for recycling, black for general waste. When your bags are full please leave them at the campsite recycling stations & collect new bags from the info hubs.
Our Clean Vibes green team will be roaming the event site all weekend, monitoring waste stations and are happy to help you with queries about “what goes where”
Carpooling & Public Transport
A large portion of our carbon footprint is attributed to patrons travelling to and from the festival. We’ve introduced car passes in order to encourage you all to carpool and use other modes of transport, if 4 or more people arrive in your car you will receive a rebate to the value of your car pass! When travelling to Beyond The Valley, we highly recommend getting together with friends and carpooling. Not only will you get to share in the road trip fun with your friends, you will also be contributing fewer emissions into the atmosphere. Less cars on the road = less CO2 emissions. Less cars on the campsite = more room to party! We are also organising buses departing from various locations around Melbourne. To purchase a bus ticket click here.
To avoid using paper please present your ticket on your mobile phone.
This year we will be trialling Bio toilets which uses the power of microbiology to process your waste into a valuable resource. These Bio toilets use bacteria to create an ecosystem within the toilet, then the Bacterias effectively turn the waste into nutrient rich soil which will be taken off site for processing into compost.
